  • Diner de gala de la maison Cartier

    Cartier

One night, French Embassy in Tokyo was busy hosting stately dinner for the dignitary. For the evening, historical recipe from the dinner President Francois Mitterrand prepared to receive Japanese Emperor Akihito was pulled out from the Le Quai d’Orsay archive, as well as sets of Christofle silverwares and Sevres porcelain dinner services with mark of the Élysée Palace were all shipped in from the Le Quai d’Orsay to serve 200 guests in Tokyo, which meant for two weeks the French President could not use these plates and cutlery for his dinner. It goes without saying Cartier and their guests, guests of this state dinner, were flattered.
