Zara seen by Takuya Uemura

In 2025, the installation Gravity and Grace by Shinji Ohmaki celebrated the themes of blooming and rebirth, drawing on the fleeting beauty of sakura in full bloom — a striking blend of nature and craft that balanced minimalism with quiet strength, capturing renewal in every delicate detail. In 2026, we carried this project forward in collaboration with AI artist Takuya Uemura, whose work bridges architecture and the traditional Japanese art of ikebana, reimagining the relationship between spatial composition and plant life. Known for making public his process of creating ikebana through generative AI, Uemura inspired us to translate his imagination into reality: a sakura and bamboo art piece, installed at the main Zara store in Ginza.
