During his solo exhibition at Hara Museum in Tokyo, French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel brought in children into the museum to let their creativity spur. The artist intended to convey the joy of giving forms to children’s imaginary ideas through drawing. While children enjoyed traditional drawing session using colour pens to copy Othoniel’s work, they got more participative with hands on approach using Augmented Reality. Specially developed software allowed children to “touch” the original illustration by Othoniel and manipulate. Through trial and error, kids explored and learnt the process of giving form to an idea.
