Above the cloud
Bally
Swiss leather goods brand Bally celebrated its 160 year anniversary and the opening of its flagship in Tokyo. People sat amidst a fog filled the room surrounded by panoramic images of an alpine view, as if the Swiss mountainscapes were brought into the middle of Tokyo. Guests were then brought up above the clouds to have dinner in a chalet-like setting. This event was inspired by Bally’s legacy: being the first shoes—Bally’s reindeer leather boots—to have reached 8000-meter-high Mount Everest in 1953. Artists Daito Manabe and Setsuya Kurotaki were invited to play contemporary music, further highlighting how the brand values heritage but is also current and young.
